checking out the world | iceland

chelsea may not love traveling but it is truly one of my favorite things to do. I recently went to iceland over my winter break and it is something that I will never forget. now most people I tell that I went there are like why? why would you go to a cold place over new years eve? my response is that it was colder in new york city than it was there.

one of the highlights was new years eve. my parents and I went to a gala that was at a rotating restaurant that gives you a 360 view of reykjavik. icelanders also have a special tradition when it comes to new years eve; they all set off their own fireworks. this means that literally everywhere you look fireworks are going off and this is for hours. there were even fireworks days after. its something that can't really be captured by anything; only something that can be experienced. so go. I promise you will not be disappointed.

my other two favorite parts were hiking on a glacier and snorkeling.

and here are just a few more of my favorite shots from the trip.
